Beauty and history of Ghana in 10 days! Let us guide you through the beauty of the capital city Accra and the Central Region of Ghana. You will experience Accra’s most beutiful points of interest, the most historical cities in Ghana Elmina and Kumasi and, as the cherry on the cake, the national park and Safari in Mole.

Itinerary
Once you have arrived at Kotoka International airport you will go through all formalities and after you have come out from the immigration you will be met by a guide. Should it be that your flight arrives at night there will be snacks awaiting to fill any stomach which is empty. We will get on our bus and drive straight to our hotel for the night. We would not spend much time on briefings and allow you to check in and settle in for the night. We will have welcome drinks in the evening where we get to meet our incountry trip leaders as well as everyone on this trip with us.
We will spend the entire day exploring Accra. We will visit the Independence Square, the Kwame Nkrumah Mausoleum which is the final resting place of the first president of Ghana. We will also visit the Makola market. We will have lunch and proceed on to the Legon Botanical Gardens wherewe engage in a rope course activities and visit the canopy walk. We will head back to our hotel before dark and have dinner. In the evening we will see nightlife in Accra and visit a some vibrants spot.
We will have breakfast and depart heading west into the Central Region of Ghana. We will visit the Cape Coast Slave Dungeon. After the tour, we will visit the Elmina slave dungeon, the largest and oldest European building in existence below the Sahara. Over here, we will follow customs and traditions where prayers will be said upon your return back home and we will visit the slave dungeons bare footed which is a significance of showing respect to all sould who lost their lives during this epic journey. We will drive and check in our accommodation for the night. In the evening we will experience nightlife in Ghana's top most historical town.
Educational Volunteering
We will make our way heading north to Kumasi. Enroute we will visit the Assin Manso Slave Market. This is the final and the last point of the slaves before they travel through the virgin forest for 3 weeks to the castles and were shipped to the unknown world. At Assin Manso, we will see the memorial wall of return, we will have a spiritual and a sacred walk bare footed to the slave river. Over here you will have your first bath of return in the very river our ancestors had their final bath before taken out of the country. We will proceed to Kumasi, Ghana's garden city. Kumasi is vibrant city and we will experince nightlife here.
We will visit the Manhyia Palace which is the seat of King of the Ashanti Empire where we will be portrayed to the rich culture of this powerful kingdom and its people. We will visit the cultural center, the sword monument of Okomfo Anokye, the Kumasi fort, and the Kejetia market, West Africa's busiest and largest open air market. Kumasi is a vibrant city and we will go down the street into some of the local pups tonight and witness night life in the Garden City of Ghana.
We will go on the next step of our journey. We will drive to Mole National Park, Ghana's largest national park and the home of Africa's largest elephant. Enroute we will visit the Kintampo waterfalls as well as the canopywalk that goes over the waterfalls.
We will spend the entire day today exploring the national park and what Mole is got to offer. We will go on a morning walking safari. We stand the chance of seeing wildlife such as monkeys, elephants, warthogs, antelopes, buffalos and more. We will have breakfast on return and spend the afternoon at the pool side viewing elephants and warthogs from a distance. Later in the day we will visit the magnificent Larabanga Mosque, Ghana’s renowned and oldest mosque. In the evening we will go for an evening vehicle safari in 4 x 4’s. We will have a buffet dinner.
After breakfast we will dpeart the national park and drive to Kumasi. We will stay at the shores of Lake Bosomtwi, Ghana's largest natural lake where we spend the rest of the day on rest and relaxation on the shores of the lake. We will spend the evening around a bonfire where we congratulate ourselves for taking this trip.
Based on your departure time, we will drop you off in time so you can catch your flight without much stress. In reaching Accra, we will visit the arts center, West Africa's largest arts and craft market where we will have the oppurtunity to shop for souveniers for friends and family home before we drop you off at the airport.
